Everyone needs a little inspiration and direction throughout the day. Keeping God at the forefront will help us survive the change from summer freedom and will keep our focus and mind on what is important. I’ve been working on memorizing scripture, which is not my forte. However, when I made it a family goal, the accountability between my daughter and I, made it so much more doable. Here are thirty verses we plan to memorize in the first thirty days of school.
Lord, please sharpen our minds so we may know and discern your Spirit more clearly.
- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
- The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:22-23
- Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6
- The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. –Proverbs 18:10
- I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. – Psalm 16:8
- Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me – Psalm 23:4
- Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD! – Psalm 31:24
- The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. – Psalm 46:7

- A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. –Proverbs 17:17
- Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. –John 15:13
- And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. –Romans 8:28
Technically speaking, that is 32 verses. But I the last one was so good I couldn’t refuse adding it. I didn’t find these bible verses on my own. I googled. I’ve never been to this site where I found them, so I can’t attest to their purity or doctrine. But, the scripture from the Bible is sound and good.
